» overall description[/font][/size][/b] in general, rose is rather pretty. she stands are five foot, eight inches, and has a slender, moderately curvaceous body to match the height. her hair is cut short, and messy to the point where it could be mistaken that she cut it herself. it's spiky at the end, and her bangs more often than not are falling in front of her face. she dresses comfortably, often in darker clothing that covers most of her skin. normally her outfits are composed of jeans and some type of blouse, things that are generally fashionable but equally able to move in. make-up isn't something that she wears a lot of, seeing it as more of a human thing than anything us. she's beautiful enough on her own.
» overall personality [/font][/size][/b] like most vampires, rose is primarily two things - self preserving and covering up her emotions. after being alive so long, she knows how to take care of herself and handle herself. she's gained quite an amount of information about the world, and if she doesn't know something herself, can normally contact on of her friends. despite covering up some of the "softer" emotions, rose is still a very friendly vampire. she's social and knows how to be polite. whether or not she acts on it is what matters. she's known to state the truth, whether or not she necessarily has the right to. distancing herself from humans or people she might have to kill is something she tends to do.
she's a tough soul, hard to crack, but killing is something that she hates and after all of the years, still feels remorse for. the pleasure it brings after the hunt is something that hates, and the hunt isn't the fun part about drinking. in this aspect she's not like many vampires, having a more humane and less sadistic approach to most things. she thinks about others and cares for them, no matter how well she may cover them up. usually she covers it up through witty remarks or a tough exterior, though she has been shown to crack occasionally. getting her to that point is rare, but quite an achievement.

» history[/font][/size][/b] way back in fourteen hundred fifty, back in the time of horses and carriages, rosemary "rose" pensall was born to proud parents lorianne and joseph. she had various siblings - a handful of both older and younger boys and girls, though her recollection of her childhood and the vast majority of her human life is rather vague. she lived in st. austell, england, just thirty miles south of where present day london resides. the area she grew up in was surrounded by fields filled with horses owned by her family, along with lightly wooded forest areas. it was a beautiful part of the country and often she would go there with the sole purpose of just going there. it was beautiful and she loved it from the time that she was a little girl.
of course, rose grew up fast like most people did back then. she had many court offers despite the lower class family that she came in, purely out of the beauty, though none of the offers ended up in her ever getting married to a man. even as she grew past the usual age of getting married in her day, rose remained on the quiet side of things and didn't socialize and day dream over having a husband like most women did. she was independent. and that same independence ended up getting her turned. a vampire found her, and not long later, she had become just another slave of the shadows.
lonely with the new style of life and not staying with the one who changed her, rose ended up taking pity on a man named trevor, and changed him herself not too long after becoming a vampire. that seemed to start her trend of bad luck, however. not too long later, katerina petrova entered their lives. after feeding the young doppelgänger her blood, the girl ended up killing herself. knowing that klaus would see her roll and involvement in it, she attempted to kill the young vampire, though ended up killing an elderly woman whom she had been staying with. fearing for her life and the outcome of what could be considering betraying klaus, she and trevor went on the run for the next five hundred years from them.
some point during the said five hundred years, rose cut off almost all of her hair and came over to the states with trevor. it was not so much a new start, more so putting as much distance between herself and the originals as she could. she became in touch with a surprisingly amount of vampires while in the states. however, that ended up working to her advantage as opposed to anything else. she located the doppelgänger, a teenager named elena gilbert. she and trevor kidnapped the girl in hopes of handing her over to elijah. it almost worked, until the salvatore brothers took the girl back and "killed" elijah. however, in the process, she did manage to get her freedom. even if trevor lost his head.
knowing that the originals wouldn't stop for the girl, rose found the salvatores, having heard of them a hundred years back when lexi tried to set her up with stefan. she warned them about the originals and klaus, and ended up sticking around to help them protect elena, recognizing that with trevor dead she had nowhere else to go. this did not end up working out for her, however. in assisting them, she found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. when a werewolf broke into the salvatore home, she moved in front of damon, and consequently was bit by jules. at first they thought the legend was fake, seeing the bite mark heal over a few seconds later, but it proved to not be the case.
later than evening, the area where the bite had been was covered in a bubbling, disgusting rash. her condition only got worse, there was no cure that any of them new about. all of the predicted symptoms happened - dementia, nausea, excruciating pain, and the worst in her case of all, the bloodlust. she ended up escaped from the salvatore home after nearly killing elena twice, and instead went out and killed three people of mystic falls before damon found her and took her back home. death, she easily assumed, was surely the only thing that was in her future.
once again, this proved to be incorrect.
